  5. Russian philosopher, writer, novelist who wrote “Atlas Shrugged” and developed the hypothesis of OBJECTIVISM. She had an important influence on capitalist theoreticians. Objectivism states: reality exists independent of consciousness; individual persons are in contact with this reality through sensory perception; human beings can gain objective knowledge from perception through the process of concept formation and inductive and deductive logic; the proper purpose of one's life is the pursuit of one's own rational self-interest; the only social system consistent with this morality happiness is full respect for individual rights, embodies in pure laissez faire capitalism. Democratic Socialism is a democracy were you have freedom, but there are more group regulations to look out for the better well-being of people and the Earth; as opposed to the selfishness greed, and injustice inherent in Laissez faire capitalism. People work more to provide a service and fulfill their physical and psychological needs of work and accomplishment. Democratic Socialism attempts to provide a modest life for most people so the Earth can be shared. It is not to control the population. Democratic Socialism attempts to control an individuals costs for education, health, food, houses by limiting profit and interest, etc. In a fair, ethical, and equal society most people will work hard and are not looking for government handouts. DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM
