What is a Bolt-On? • So you won’t say the ‘M’ word. • A Bolt-On is an addition or a supplement to baseline coding that enables enhanced functionality. • Bolt-On may be easily removed or re-bolted with little system impact.
PIN Reset • Not this type of pin setting but just as problematic. • A/R needed an alternative method for resetting PIN’s. • Time and staffing • GOATPAC access concerns
Standard Methodology • Current method of PIN resetting is with the user answering a ‘personal security question’. • User’s often did not remember their answer. • Results: Call A/R
Proposed Methodology • Bolt-On placed on web login page. • User answers questions. • Validated against database. • PIN reset and expired. Temporary PIN sent by email. • User required to reset PIN on next login to self-service.
Current Status • In production for the past year. • Thousands have used the PIN reset with no problems encountered. • A/R able to handle occasional walk in requests. • Future changes may include a modified security question/answer.
