  3. What is BONUS+? • BONUS+ is a resource-sharing project that allows students and staff of Murdoch University to borrow selected library material from other participating universities.

  4. Why we joined BONUS+? Provide users with easy access to cost-free loans Familiar interface for users and staff Make our collection more readily available to other libraries

  5. The Catalogue • Books from participating libraries can be supplied at the click of a button. • Software solution is supplied by existing vendor III • Bonus+ has multiple access points in a pre-existing familiar system to staff and patrons

  6. BONUS+ Catalogue • Each Library chooses what material to be included in the catalogue, with items such as Reserve and special collection not usually included. • any change to your catalogue being reflected in the Bonus+ catalogue quickly and without extra intervention by cataloguing.

  7. What has BONUS+ done for Murdoch? • Our staff and students are now able to access a very significant number of new resources • 70 % of each participating library stock being unique • easy-to-use and familiar interface i.e. the Library catalogue. • Undergraduates have greater access to material 24.9%

Statistics and Analysis • Resources available to our staff and students has increased to over 3.5 million volumes from our partner libraries • The average receipt for an item is within one week • University's image & reputation has been enhanced • Whilst we are still a net lender the ratio has decreased to nearly 1 to 1

Performance • A team environment • Reduced costs • Familiarity with existing interfaces meant low training impact • Organisational performance has been improved • Discussions with other sectors within the University • In line with the University's mission of collaboration and cooperation • Increase in services to patrons

  11. Where to from here? • Feedback has included: • “Awesome!” and “I wish this had been available when I started my degree.” • Further ongoing promotion • Review Bonus+ to determine future directions
