2. Cult of personality • Adolf Hitler thoughts on how Germany should be ran. (4) • Joseph Stalin replacing photos of other people with his face. Portraying people should worship him as he will run the country to greatness.(5)

3. Indoctrination and mobilization of supporters • Benito Mussolini was able to control the people because they supported his way of providing jobs and willingness to fight for Italy to make them great. (6) • Joseph Stalin had support from 2 main reasons. • Reign of Terror • Great Purge • (7)

4. Use of propaganda and control of media • Hitler understood for people to support his ideas, he only needed a few main points. • In this poster it reads “The German student fights for the Fuhrer and the people”. • The character is the ideal Nazi person, young, blond, strong and dedicated to his country. (8) Donald Trump has mastered the coverage of media to gain peoples attention. (10)

5. Fear, terror and violence • Stalin basically thought of Russia like this. To make everybody happy, kill all those that are not happy. • He used a secret police to maintain control and kill any who didn’t support him. • Stalin would have entire families killed for disobedience purposes. Many families would go “missing”. • (10) • Adolf Hitler used these main tactics to run his country through fear, terror and violence. • (11)

6. Removal of all opposition • Mussolini gained power by running as a fascist leader while the rest of the countries candidates were going for communism. People of Italy wanted change and that’s why they voted for Mussolini. • Mussolini once in control had to figure out a way in order to stay in power. This is how he would ensure it. • (12) • Stalin removed his opposition by execution or banishing them to other countries. • Nikolai Yezhov (Naval Commissar) removed after he fell from power. (13)

7. Aggressive military and glorification of war • Mussolini has the soldiers in this poster looking happy recruiting more to join. • Hitler encouraging people from Frankfurt to go join the fight. The poster looks like

8. Promotion of Radical Beliefs • Hitler had made up a book clearly stating it was the Jewish peoples faults for Germany’s financial problems. Talked down the Jewish communism as he saw communism as a threat. • (16) • Stalin used Gulags to get the industry up and collective farms. People would work for basically nothing but in his views they were all equal so who cares. • Killed off a full class because they were seen as useless and helpless. • (17)

9. failure of democracy leading to support • Stalin exiled Trotsky who supported world revolution. • Stalin gained power and really didn’t have many supporters. He would just kill those who questioned him so people learned to just keep quiet and deal with him. • Trotsky (left) • Stalin (right) (18) • Benito Mussolini gained support due to 3 main reasons. • Give people jobs due to high unemployment • Dissatisfied with Treaty of Versailles • Against Communism.
