  3. 1. Power Generation in Cambodia A. Generation by Type of License • Independent Power Producers having generation license generate and sell electricity to suppliers or industries as per Power Purchase Agreement with that supplier or industry; and • Consolidated Licensees generate electricity for supply to consumers through their distribution system.

  4. A. Generation by Type of License • The energy generated and sent out by all licensees in Cambodia during 2011 is 1,018.54 GWh, which is 5.18% more than the energy sent out during 2010. The quantum of energy sent-out by the Independent Power Producers, Consolidated licensees and EDC is shown in the graphic given below:

  6. B. Generation by Type of Generation Facilities • Electricity generation facilities in the Kingdom of Cambodia for the year 2011 can be divided into 4 types: 1 - Hydropower Plants, 2 - Diesel power Plants, 3- Thermal Power Plants using coal and 4 – Plants using wood and other biomass.

Energy Imported from Neighboring Countries • Cambodia imports electricity from Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. • The import from Vietnam is at 22 kV through a number of connections and at 230 kV through Vietnam – Takeo - Phnom Penh 230 kV line. • Thailand is at 22 kV through a number of connections and at 115 kV through Thailand - BanteayMeanchey - Battambang and Siem Reap line. • The import from Laos is at 22 kV to SteungTreng area.

  14. Customer from 2005 to 2010 In the last ten year, Cambodia took a great effort to rehabilitation and redevelopment electricity power in medium and long-term purpose to supply the electricity power repose to the demand of the consumer.
