  4. NSBE’s mission is… to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community

  5. How well do you know black history?

  6. Are you a math, science, or engineering major and looking for something to do this summer?

  7. University Scholars Program • Intended to introduce you to the exciting world of academic research and will help you determine whether you would like to pursue graduate-level research in the future • Work one-on-one with a UF faculty member performing a research project • A $2000 stipend will allow you to pursue research in the summer of 2010 • Prsesent your research during the spring 2011 University Scholars Symposium • Publish a paper in the Journal of Undergraduate Research • DEADLINE TO APPLY: March 1, 2010

WVNanoREU • Majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and • would like to participate in summer undergraduate research in the field of nanoscience.  More information as well as an application can be found at http://wvnano.wvu.edu/REU. • Participants receive $5000 for the 10-week program (May 25-July 30) plus room and board.  • They begin reviewing applications on March 12, 2010 and admissions will be on a rolling basis.

Research Experience for Undergraduate in Renewable Energy • Where: Colorado School of Mines invites • Ten-week summer research program addressing fundamental materials issues related to the science and technology of renewable energy while nurturing a greater sensitivity of our place and role in the world in which we live. • The application deadline for Summer 2010 is March 1, 2010.  • From May 31 to August 6 • Contact Dr. Chuck Stone at cstone@mines.edu or (303) 273-3762 for more information.

Cornell University LSAMP Summer Undergraduate Research Program CU LSAMP-R is an all expense paid summer research opportunity from June 6 – Aug. 11, 2010 that provides undergraduate participants with the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and staff as well as network with others in their field of interest through weekly luncheons. CU LSAMP-R offers participants: • A research stipend of $3,400 • A round-trip travel stipend up to $300 for students living outside of Ithaca, NY • A double room in a residential hall • A campus bus pass or a campus parking pass • Access to state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, computer/study lounges, etc. Please visit www.engineering.cornell.edu/lsamp for more information about the program and to apply.  Application deadline: March 1, 2010.
