MISSION STATEMENT NSBE’s Mission is to: Increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
BLACK HISTORY FACTS • Dr. Makola Abdullah • Currently FAMU’s Dean of CESTA • Youngest African American to receive a Ph.D. from Northwestern University • At age of 24 • Former FAMU-FSU NSBE Advisor • Several Accolades: FAMU Teacher of the Year (2004), Black Engineer of the Year (1999), National Science Foundation CAREER Award (1997)
