  5. Transforming Catford • The Council has been undertaking a ‘market exploration’ exercise to gather feedback from developers, architects and commercial agents about possible ‘ways forward’ for Catford in general/ the three Council-owned sites in particular. • The next few months will be spent reviewing, distilling and furthering ideas. 8. Road network and Local Plan • TfL and the GLA have developed a renewed interest in the realignment of the South Circular to the rear of Laurence House. • Work on the Catford Plan – the planning framework for Catford – has been temporarily halted while TfL carry out their study, which should take an estimated 6 months. 9. Smaller projects • With landscape architects, we have been looking at how to improve the spaces between the major development sites - temporarily, short-term and long-term. • This work will have two main outcomes: - an exemplar project or projects - a document that can be used for bidding for funding or to direct developer contributions. 10. Moving forward • The market exploration exercise has demonstrated that there is a high level of interest in Catford. • The steps the Council has taken to date (purchasing the shopping centre, refurbishing Catford Broadway) have helped to further stimulate that interest. • Officers will continue to progress different initiatives alongside the overall transformation/ redevelopment plans.
