How many pounds of counterweight (W) are required for each outrigger on a 2-point suspended scaffold (swing stage) where: - Load line to fulcrum distance (X) = 8 feet - Center of Counterweight to fulcrum distance (Y) = 18 feet - Total weight (L) of the swing stage, rigging, and material on the platform = 350 pounds - Add 2 workers on the swing stage = 400 pounds - Hoist (H) = 1000 pound rated capacity Formulas: LX = YW, then add 4 to 1 safety factor, LX = 4(YW) W = 4 (LX) Y HX = YW, then add 4 to 1 safety factor, HX = 4(YW) W = 4 (HX) Y *1 worker = average 200 pounds
