Home Play (not homework) • PRACTICE examining the attributes of Standard One with an actual lesson plan from a teacher at your site • Conduct a Pre-conference with one of your teachers, practicing probing for specificity on the Components of Standard One. • Come prepared to describe your experience, and what you are noticing about the connection between mediocre instruction and poorly articulated planning. • AND what you and your teachers are learning.
Raise the Velcro for Standard One • In groups of 3-4, use the cards for Standard One Components • Identify the Component that best matches the example on each card. • Determine which level of performance the example may represent.

Learning Outcomes that constitute “important learning” • Work in groups of 3 to use Exercise 2.1 • Notice the goal statements that are often included in lesson plans, either written or verbalized • Distinguish good vs. non-examples, and discuss how to support teachers while they improve their thinking
