Bratislava meeting – Main conclusions • Several CMC entries need supporting evidence for claimed capabilities in the field of low pressure gas flow. • Gas flow measurement at low flow rates (below 30 l/min) is an area of major metrological interest where no extended intercomparisons within Euromet Flow group have taken place.
LPGF Current status • I. BIPM CMC database - Questions • Are claimed capabilities as depicted in the database fully supported? • If NOT why? • New lab, equipment, personnel? • Supporting evidence “too old”? • Has supporting evidence “expiration date”? If YES: • Criteria? • Agreement upon realistic rules?
LPGF Current status • I. BIPM CMC database - What next? • Revision – When? • Each LPGF subgroup member creates an up-to-date list of the submitted entries that need supporting evidence. • LPGF subgroup convenor summarizes the findings and starts a discussion about actions to be taken. • Main Target • By the end of 2005 reach an agreement about certain actions that will provide the basis for scientific support for all claimed capabilities within LPGF field.
LPGF Current status • II. New Proposed Project Registered as Euromet No 806 • Discussions started in Bratislava last March. • NEL offered a Molbox1/Molbloc system as TS. • Comments received from members of LPGF subgroup and other Euromet members contributed to the formulation of a new proposal which has been registered as Euromet Project No 806. • Pilot Labs: NEL (UK), EIM (Greece) • Organization: Z. Metaxiotou (EIM), Cliff Probert (NEL) • Assisting Lab: M. Van der Beek (NMi)
LPGF Current status • Brief Technical Description • Transfer package consists (basically) of: • 2 Molbloc flow meters • 2 Mass flow controllers • Test gases: • Nitrogen 99,998 % (1st circulation) • Air from lab supply (2nd circulation) • Test flow rates: • 2.0 – 20 mg/s (0.1 – 1 l/min) – Molbloc A • 65 – 650 mg/s (3.0 – 30 l/min) – Molbloc B
LPGF Current status • Current Project Status • Eight (8) participants up to date(Others are invited to join!) • NEL (UK) – Cliff Probert • EIM (Greece) – Zoe Metaxiotou • NMi (The Netherlands) – M. Van der Beek / G. Blom • IMGC (Italy) – G. Cignolo • MIKES (Finland) – S. Sillampaa • METAS (Switzerland) – Bernhard Niederhauser • PTB (Germany) – R. Kramer / B. Mickan • CMZ (Czech Republic) – J. Tesar / Z. Krajicek
LPGF Current status • Current Project Status • A detailed draft technical protocol has been prepared by NEL and circulated among all LPGF subgroup members. • A provisional project schedule for the 1st circulation of the TS has been proposed and is subject to discussion. • The revised technical protocol will be prepared after the Euromet meeting.

LPGF Current status • Summary • New participants? Please, register! • Final comments • Send them to Cliff Probert (NEL) cprobert@tuvnel.com or Zoe Metaxiotou (EIM), zoe@eim.org.gr • Dead line for replies: April 1st, 2005 • Finalization of the Project Schedule. • Revised technical Protocol to be submitted by C. Probert in July 2005.
