This course will allow students to learn good study habits, time management techniques, and different learning strategies to become better learners. This course is also designed to build confidence and each student have have an opportunity to receive additional help with his or her schoolwork.
Norms’ Responsibilities • Teach the subject in a clear, understandable manner • Report student absences and tardies according to school policy • Evaluate the progress of students based on their individual differences • Be available for individual assistance after school on Tuesdays. • Remove students from class who disrupt the learning environment of others. • Keep parents informed of your positive and negative progress.

Survival Rules Homework Policy There is sufficient time given in class for all assigned work. Extra time is given after school if needed.
Survival Rules ~ Make Up Work • School Policy ~ You will receive one day for every day absent plus one to complete makeup work. • Norms’ Policy ~ Late work is not accepted once the unit is over. Exceptions to these policies will be made if it is work that can only be done in the lab. Do not assume that you will be given an extension. All extensions must be arranged with me. • All assignments are on the class website. • Extra Credit opportunities during the semester.

Survival Rules ~ Printing • Maintain a paperless environment as much as possible. • Print with permission ~ Print once, live with what you printed. Double and triple check your work thoroughly before you ask to print.
Survival Rules ~ Be There, Be Ready ~ What Does This Look Like???? • Go to your assigned seat and place your bag under your desk by your feet. • Bring a pen/pencil and planner to class. • Begin the Sponge for the Day. • Do not come to my desk with questions about missing assignments.

Grading Scale Grades are posted on Tuesdays ~ Athletic eligibility every 3 weeks. Grades are posted on the CVMS website www.dcsd.k12.nv.us/cvms ~ Find my photo under the STAFF page. You will need your ID number and a PIN number
Level 1 ~ Discipline The teacher is responsible for the learning climate in the classroom. If a student acts in a manner that is disruptive or disrespectful and interferes with the teacher’s ability to teach or students’ ability to learn, the teacher will: • Give a verbal warning. Begin documentation. • Assign detention. • Contact the parent ~ ask for assistance. • Administration referral.
