FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS • Take your 4” x 6” card with the lined side facing you • Top left corner- mark the class hour we’re in right now • Now listen carefully • Be sure to PRINT

Expectations and Personal Conduct in Mr. D’s Classroom “So what do I need to do?” • Establish Goals for yourself and keep track of your progress. BDHS expects you to advance at least one grade level in the next nine months. “Let’s make it more!” • If I don’t give you enough feedback, ask me for more of it. • Participating vs. Attending
Every day please bring your notebook which is dedicated for this class. “So what do I need to have?” • You will also need something to write with. • One (1) double-pocket folder for handouts and completed assignments. • Bring books when I ask you to. I’ll let you know in advance
On the cover, print your name and contact information. • Inside the front cover, develop a scale (1-10) and rate yourself as to where you see yourself today. Under the scale, write a brief paragraph about expectations for yourself. “So what do I need to have?”
Come into the classroom and look at the white board for instructions… AT THE START OF CLASS… • This will usually consist of a question for you to think about for a 5-minute writer’s prompt… • While you’re writing, I’ll take attendance and get other matters in order…
Plan on working up until the bell… AT THE END OF CLASS… • There will be no lining up early… • Sometimes I will give you an Exit Card or similar exercise. This serves as an assessment of what you learned, and also gives me feedback on my performance.
