Status of INC Guidelines Relative to the NRO Order: INC NRUF Reporting Issue • INC is considering whether or not there is value in having the PA submit rate area NRUF forecasts to the NANPA. There are both cost and procedural implications. • INC is giving this issue high priority and will continue to address it at INC 51 in July 2000.
NPA Workshop, Issue 216:(Designation of 37X or 96X to a Non-Geographic, Technology Specific Application (E-Fax)) • INC Issue Resolution statement for 216: • The INC recommends that these types of services not be assigned non-geographic resources. These services, such as efax, complete calls on a geographic basis and are rated and charged accordingly. INC has initially determined the use of non-geographic resources will require development of new infrastructure for access, rating, and billing to support the use of these non-geographic resources. Additionally, non-geographic resources traditionally require the translation to geographic numbers for routing purposes and would therefore consume up to twice as many numbering resources compared to using only geographic numbers.
