  2. Design • Rough sketch of what we wanted to accomplish in our device

  3. Device Description • Car rolls down ramp and collides with bearing • Bearing rolls down ramp and is projected into funnel • Bearing hits clothes pin and releases string holding up weights • Weights fall on second clothes pin and release hammer • Hammer activates lamp or triggers next device

  4. Calculations

  5. Costs • 2 clothes pins - $0.20 • Ball bearing - $1.50 • Lamp - $5.00 • Wood - $5.00 • String - $0.50 • TOTAL = $19.70 • Funnel - $0.50 • Hammer - $3.50 • 2 pulleys - $1.50 • Weight - $1.50 • Toy car - $0.50

  6. Construction Issues • Fitting everything together just right • Stabilizing funnel • Making sure our device was constructed so that we could be triggered by/trigger other devices

  7. Conclusion • Device successfully accomplished what was required of it • Team members gained valuable teamwork and engineering experience
