2. 1990: Donetta Sheffold had an idea: Could there be an organization for library support staff within the Oregon Library Association? In the beginning…...

3. 1991 • Support staff from around the state gathered at the OLA conference in Ashland to discussion the possibility. • As a result, the Library Support Staff Round Table (LSSRT) was born.

16. 1998: The Big Event • OLA membership votes unanimously to give LSSRT division status; LSSRT morphs into the Support Staff Division (SSD). Division status gives the SSD chair a vote on the OLA Executive Board, thus increasing support staff’s voice in the organization.
