WG/HWSO&R Meeting • 60th IHC • Key Actions: • Vortex Message Change (Item 6) • “Storm ID” will be added to message title. AOC will implement in 2006; 53 WRS in 2007 • Addition of High Density Three-Dimensional Doppler Radar Data to NHOP (Item 7) • Documents new requirement • Expendable Bathythermograph (AXBT) Observations on Tasked Reconnaissance Missions (Item 10) • 2006 season efforts designed to help establish requirements for upper ocean observations
WG/HWSO&R Meeting • 60th IHC • Key Actions: • New Format for HDOB/MINOB Data (Item 11) • Implementation deferred until the 2007 season but efforts are ongoing to finalize formats and processing • CARCAH Manning (Item 12) • HQ NOAA point of contact to be provided for further discussions • Caribbean Hurricane Awareness Tour (CHAT) (Item 13) • HQ NOAA point of contact to be provided for further discussions. NOAA will work with 403rd Wing to pursue financial support from US Southern Command
WG/HWSO&R Meeting • 60th IHC • Key Actions: • Access to Operational Storm Surge SLOSH Output (Item 17) • OFCM will coordinate with the Air Force, Navy, and DHS/FEMA to identify the availability of agency ftp servers to speed access to storm surge data
WG/HWSO&R Meeting • 59th IHC • Open Action Items • Utilization of new UBLOX and existing GPS 121 dropsondes for tasked reconnaissance and surveillance missions (item 12) • UBLOX dropsondes are in full production and coordination on their use will continue through the 2006 season • Support for Dropsonde Redesign Efforts (item 13) • Efforts are ongoing. Supplemental funding has been received to complete design and prototyping. NOAA/AOC is the lead on the project
