Disability Income Continuation Compensation Management
Disablities • Disablity can be classified as regular temprary total or partial • When Employees are unable to work due to some disability after an accident on Job or outside some organization continue to pay them
Short Term Disablity • Organization pay the employee while emploee remains absent from work due to some accident • Mostly insurance covers the medical expanses but pay is given to keep the kitchen of household alive
Long Term Disability (LTD) • Long term disability insurance is needed as when Employees are disabled permanently or for a long period they need extra funds for medical as well as household • This some times is tied up to pension also
Worker’s Compensation • State Laws require that Ocupational Disablity Insurance must be provided • When some one is disabled while performing his/her Job
Non-occupational Temporary Disability • Some governments and organizations also give compensation for disability that arise form Non Occupational or from outside injury or illness • Employee receives certain benefit or pay as he/she may not be able to continue working
Social Security • This also relates to permanent total or partial disability • Governments require the organizations or the social Security System to pay a certain amount to such employees • In Pakistan Social security is governed by law for lower level workers
Travel Accident Insurance • Organizations provide Travel Insurance plans for employees whose jobs involve traveling from place to place • This can be a temporary benefit while employee is traveling or long term
Other Incomes • Sick Leaves • Supplimental Disablity Insurance • Accidental Death or Dismemberment • Group life Insurance • Retirement Plans
