  1. How to test a Pure Silk Kashmir Carpet before buying? Handmade silk carpet is the most exclusive decorative item which is expensive too. Silk area rug is made in two types – Silk on silk carpet and silk on cotton rug. Today’s many sellers sell artificial silk as pure silk. So, before buying a rug first test that the carpet is made in pure silk or not. Follow the below tips- Burn a yarn from carpet: Take a yarn from carpet and burn it. If it smells like a burning hair, it means it is silk and if it smells like plastic then it is an artificial silk rug.

  2. Check knots:Handmade silk rug is made in two types. First is silk on silk and second one is silk on cotton. It contains approx. 576 knots per inch. Material Quality: The quality of a pure silk rug is much better than artificial silk. If one looks at the back of the carpet, one can easily see the fineness in quality and texture. However, if one sees the back of an artificial silk rug, it is not fine at all and it is not as soft as a pure silk handmade Kashmir carpet.

  3. Design of carpet: handmade pure silk rug is woven in traditional designs like Kashan, Hamadan, Qum, etc. and reflect the craftsmanship. For more information, please visit : www.yakcarpet.in
