THE BUILDING WAS USED AS SUMMER RESIDENCE OF PORTUGAL'S ROYAL FAMILY. IN 1910 THE PALACE WAS CONVERTED INTO A MUSEUM
THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED WITH A MIXTURE OF ARCHITECTURAL STYLES: BAVARIAN, ROMANTIC, GOTHIC AND MOORISH
FROM THE TERRACES YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE SURROUNDING AREAS
IT APPEARS THAT HE HOLDS THE WHOLE BUILDING ON HIS SHOULDERS
THE BUILDING HAS A NICE LARGE CHURCH WITH BEAUTIFUL STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
