  2. Introduction • A faithful Christian has the privilege of looking forward with happy anticipation to the second coming of Christ • Those who are not faithful Christians have no hope in the Lord’s return

  3. Introduction • Jn. 5:28-29 • 2 Th. 1:6-10 • Let us study what the Bible teaches concerning the return of Christ

  4. We Cannot Know When The Return Of Christ Will Be • Mk. 13:32-33 • Date setters are not being honest when they try to predict the time of Christ’s return • We know He will come again but we do not know when

  5. There Will Be No Signs In Nature Pointing To His Coming • We must believe He will return even though no signs will be given • Mt. 24:36-39

  6. We Are To Be Prepared For His Return • Mt. 24:36 ff • Not knowing when it will happen, we need to be prepared at all times • Rev. 2:10

  7. We Are To Look Forward With Joy, Hoping For His Return • 2 Pet. 3:12 (ASV) “looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God,…”

  8. The “Blessed Hope” • This hope is the appearing of Christ-at which time the promise he gave will be fulfilled-this includes eternal life, an immortal body, and the great blessing of being in God’s presence forever in heaven • 1 Th. 4:16-18
