Chivalry. A Knightly Code of Honor. The period of knighthood is also referred to as the age of chivalry . From the French word “chevalier” which means “horseman.” Term also refers to the strict moral code of knights. Rule #1. Believe in the church and obey her teaching. Rule #2.

  3. Rule #1 • Believe in the church and obey her teaching.

  4. Rule #2 • Always obey your feudal overlord so long as those duties do not conflict with the duties of God.

  5. Rule #3 • Respect and pity the weak and be steadfast in defending them.

  6. Rule #4 • Love your country.

  7. Rule #5 • Refuse to retreat before the enemy.

  8. Rule #6 • Be courteous toward women.

  9. Rule #7 • Be loyal to truth and the pledged word.

  10. Rule #8 • Be generous in giving.

  11. Rule #9 • Champion the right and good in every place and at all times against the forces of evil.
