The Blind Café History • THE BLIND CAFÉ’s project founder Brian (Rosh) Rocheleau admits that he feels “really blessed to share the Blind Café. It’s this amazing experience, where we create a space and help people explore their boundaries and perceptions. What comes out is unique for each guest, but it’s often powerful stuff!”
The Blind Cafe • In 2010, THE BLIND CAFÉ event was awarded the prestigious Boulder County Arts Alliance’s Addison Mini-Grant. This charity event works with visually impaired consistently donating to the National Federation of the Blind in Seattle. • The Blind Café has been busy traveling across the USA - Austin, Boulder, Portland, Cincinnati, Aspen, and more. October-November 2013, THE BLIND CAFÉ is scheduled to host their event in San Francisco.
The Blind Café + Enactus Team • This Fall CityU Enactus Team has joined The Blind Cafe • CityU Enactus team of volunteers will be providing assistance at the event volunteering • CityU Enactus helps market Seattle Blind Café and is excited to work with Rosh in future

What do we as volunteers do? • We do marketing • We volunteer at the event as servers, hosts and hostesses • We get people excited and help them get the best experience • By helping at the event we help raise awareness and donations. • We get to experience The Blind Café and make new friends
Current volunteer duties Volunteer at the event Market the event Post posters and flyers at your local coffee shops and yoga studios, grocery stores, etc. Share the event on Facebook, twitter, etc. Spread the word by writing on different blogs Invite friends and family Post on online event calendars • Help set up tables and prepare the venue • Help the cook with food preparation • Check in guests • Assign them to tables • Clean up after the dinner and show are over
Work prior to the event (3pm to 6:55pm) • BOX OFFICE / SEATING HOSTESS TABLE / LOBBY • This space is designated for guest check-ins and table assignments • See BOX OFFICE SEATING SALES Checklist • DINING ROOM • Arrange Tables and Chairs • Set place settings • Utensils • Napkins • Water Glasses / Cups • Other: • KITCHEN VOLUNTEER HELPERS • Food Preparation - receive instructions as directed by the Chef • Plate Food • Deliver Food • SALES TABLE VOLUNTEER • For advanced sales purchases of CD’s, Chocolate and Coffee
Work after the event9:40-10:40pm • SALES TABLE VOLUNTEER • Prepare / Open the Sales table to allow for purchases of CD’s, Chocolate and Coffee. • Advanced purchase items may be picked up at this time • CLEAN UP: • Bus Tables • Dish Pit Run • Sweep • Wipe Tables • Arrange tables and chairs (for next day event) • Take down signage • LOCKUP • Give Rosh all Monies • Follow Venue Lock Up Procedures
