2012-8-18 Presented by Yann-Rong Su Perioperative Outcomes of Transperitoneal and Retroperitoneal Robotic-assisted Partial Nephrectomy in A Single Institute • National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei
Objective • Robot-assisted partial laparoscopic nephrectomy (RaLPN) may make minimally invasive nephron-sparing surgery more accessible to surgeons by facilitating intracorporeal suturing and knot tying. • Both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal approaches have their advantages and disadvantages. The short-term outcomes of both procedures were recorded and analyzed. • The results of traditional laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in our institute were also included in the comparison between those of robotic surgery.
Methods • Retrospective • From 2012-2 to 2012-8 • Patients underwent RaLPN • The characteristics of these patients • age, gender, BMI, pathology of the tumor • The perioperativeoutcomes • operation time, warm ischemia time, the estimated blood loss, the positive rate of surgical margin and complication • Comparison of the perioperative outcome between RaLPN and LPN with complete medical records in our institute.
Conclusions • Robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, either tranperitoneal or retroperitoneal represents a safer and more delicate technique to manage small renal masses.
