ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework Goal: Establish a sustainable pan-European system providing quality assured real-time and NRT-marine observation data Integrate the existing capacity and harmonise the real-time and near-real-time observation activities, and co-ordinate the access to Earth Observation (EO) products in order to maximise the benefit from existing national and European resources. - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework These work package depends on WP 2: Community modelling framework WP 3: Data Management WP 5: Forecasting and Information Service System - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework Sub - work packages (tasks): WP 1.1: Evaluate national and regional observing networks WP 1.2: Monitor river runoff WP 1.3: Ensure proper and maximum delivery of real-time and NRT observational data WP 1.4: Establish a data base for observational data - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework WP 1.1:Evaluate national and regional observing networks • Make an inventory of all real-time and NRT observational data for each active coastal observing system in pan-EU using the EDIOS-data base and additional systems and identify in-situ observing activities • Make agreements with all national/regional systems and institutions to allow ECOOP to access the data • Make available all data to the ECOOP presentation system after quality control • Identify new technologies for operational observing and data transmission • Identify gaps (geographically and technically) in the observations of the European coasts and give support to fill that gaps - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework WP1.2: Monitor river runoff • Catalogue the existing river runoff monitoring activities and define a priority list for the relevant forecast activities • Identify the parameters already sampled and define a priority list for additional sampling for the relevant forecast activities • Prepare a actual map of relevant rivers for the presentation system - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework WP 1.3:Ensure proper and maximum NRT delivery of observational data • Test and protocol the data acquisition phase for all components of the integrated and harmonised system for a half year period • Test and protocol the time for data transmission and data delivery for the same period • Identify corrective procedures to advance data delivery • Produce real-time and NRT quality controlled data sets for needed boundary conditions and assimilation techniques for forecasting models • Combine remote sensing and in-situ data for quality controlled products for the presentation system and the model data assimilation techniques - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
ECOOP - consensus meeting WP 1 - Community observation framework WP 1.4: Establish a data base for observational data • Evaluating the existing real-time data bases for operational real-time and NRT data • Make use of the data base with the best performance for fast data sampling and delivery • Combine the data base with the historical data base from WP6 • Establish real-time access for all end-users - ECOOP-consensus meeting - 2005, March, 16/17 - Erdemli - KCS
