Review of Implementation of MDMS in Chandigarh(Primary + Upper Primary)(1.4.2017 to 31.03.2018) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
Additional Fund of Rs. 2000/- per month for Honorarium to Cook cum Helpers, • Additional Fund of Rs.2.95/-per child cooking cost in Primary and Rs. 3.41 per child inUpper Primary. • Additional Fund for Transporting hot cooked meal from Centralised Kitchen to School is borne by UT Admn.. from their sown resources (Rs. 76.00 Lacs granted for FY-2017-18). • Advance provision of funds for MDMS from UT Resources at the start of Financial Year. • Approx. 100% Children having Aadhaar. • 100% LPG used as source of Fuel in MDMs (in Centralised / Cluster Kitchen). • 85% School having Water Filtration Facility by using the MPLAD Funds. • Fortification of Rice & Wheat introduced by UT through using of CSR Funds. • All the Schools having Multi tap facility for hand washing. • Kitchens Garden has been started in cluster based kitchens. It is proposed that the States and UTs may also be given flexibility to utilize, with prior approval of MHRD, 5% of their Annual Work Plan & Budget for new interventions provided they are not included under any of the Central or State Schemes and there is no overlapping of activities. This is subject to CCEA approval. • Some of the suggested innovation may be in the field of Water filters, kitchen gardens, provision of LPG connections, use of millets etc. These are only illustrative and not exhaustive. • Community participation. • Meetings of District committee headed by Dist. Achievement up to 2017-18 (Kitchen cum Stores) • Total 10 Cluster Kitchen Cum Stores for 123 Schools Progress (in %) 7 Units 3 Units • UT has informed that Clustered based 7 kitchen-cum-stores have already been constructed from UT resources. • In order to construct remaining 3 cluster based kitchens, UT has requested for additional funds from MHRD. Proposal for Cook-cum-Helper engaged • UT has scope to appoint additional Cook cum Helpers due to UT Norms of 1 Cooks on Every 100 Children where as MHRD norms allow 2 Cooks for First 100 Children. • UT has informed about requirement of more cooks for Preparation of Chapatti in Cluster Kitchen.
