Status of RIS in the Czech Republic Ing. Vojtěch Dabrowski, Ministry of Transport of The Czech Republic 12thDecember 2012, Vukovar, DISC conference
Current status of RIS in the Czech Republic • National RIS server LAVDIS (www.lavdis.cz) in full operation • DGPS reference station on the lock of Obříství in full operation • Electronic reporting – still no international data exchange realised • Notices to skippers – full operation, incorporation of outputs of IRIS Europe II project – ice messages, weather forecast
Current status of RIS in the Czech Republic (2) • Interconnection with European Hull Database – in operation • IENC – Depth data – actualisation at least 2 time per year • Wirelles LAN on selected parts of waterways – Elbe in the border section with Germany, Vltava in Prague area
Currently solved RIS topics IRIS Europe III: • Implementation of quality standards of RIS (realised by State Navigation Authority) • Fuel saving device • Pilot implementation of AIS infrastructure in selected stretches of waterways • Pilot implementaton of ERDMS systém • Equipment of vessels with AIS transponders • Automatic generation of statistic data Other topic: • International data exchange • Enhancement of LAVDIS system
Feasibility study for a low cost fuel saving device in the RIS environment • Operation costs of navigation on free flowing sections on Elbe are important for competitiveness of waterway transport, limited by wrong navigation conditions • Fuel saving tools could help for modal shift from road transport • Linked with supporting programm for modernisation of fleet, cofinanced by Operational Programme Transport
Automatic generation of statistics • Pilot implementation of automatic generation of statistic reports basis on ERI and AIS data, collected by LAVDIS, inc. data from locks • Lowering of administration work for skippers
Pilot implementation of AIS • Pilot implementation of AIS infrastructure on pilot stretches (border to Germany and Prague), including tool for lock management optimisation in Prague Smíchov • Purchase and install pilot equipment (100 AIS transponders with IENC viewers) on commercial vessels for optimal usage of VTT infrastructure and services (AIS transponders will rest in public ownership, lent to vessel owners)
