The history of the company’s founding… • The company’s name originated from the founding family, Harry, Jack, Albert and Sam Warner. • The three elder brothers began in the movie theatre business, having acquired a movie projector with which they showed films in the mining towns of Pennsylvania and Ohio. • They opened their first theatre in 1903 in Pennsylvania.In 1918 they opened the first Warner Brothers Studio on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. • By the time WW1 started they had started producing films. • Sam and Jack produced the pictures, while Harry and Albert handled finance and distribution in New York City. • On April 4, 1923[ they formally incorporated as Warner Bros. Pictures, Incorporated. • Since its founding Warner Brothers have released 7,537 films.
