  4. Reactions to Taxes • Patrick Henry: “No taxation without representation!” • Colonists organize and resist British policies • Example: Sons of Liberty • Attack British officials • Boycott: refused to buy British goods

  5. Resistance Works! • Parliament repeals stamp act • Passes Declaratory Act: Parliament has supreme authority over colonies
