  2. Typewriters • In 1829 William Austin Burt invented the first typewriter. • The first successful typewriter was invented in 1867 by Christopher Sholes , Carlos Lidden , and Samuel W. Soule. • It is used to write letters to other people.

  3. Telegraph • Samuel Morse invented the telegraph in 1837. • Telegraph wires were strung along railroad lines in many areas. • The telegraph became the most popular way to communicate over the seas before the Morse code. • It was used to send messages to people.

  4. Radios • Guglilana Marconi made the radio in 1874. • Radio is the transmission of signals by modulation of electromagnetic waves with frequencies below visible light. • Electromagnetic radiation travels by means of oscillating electromagnetic fields that pass though the air and the vacuum of space.

  5. Electrical Cars • Hurl Benz built the first car in 1885 • Cars are used for transportation and to places faster • Cars run on gas for electrical power for the engine.

  6. Light Bulb • The light blub was invented by Thomas Edison 1879. • The light bulb is used to see things.

  7. Clock • The clock was invented by Benjamin Baker in 1787. • The clock is used to tell time.

  8. Why is electricity important? • Electricity is important because it powers all appliances and lights to see • If we didn’t have electricity we would not have cars , computers , or television ect. • We would be able to see in the dark or save peoples lives.
