Distinguished Achievement Program The Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP) is the highest graduation plan offered by the State of Texas. Students must complete the Recommended High School Program, third level of a foreign language, and four advanced measures. Advanced measures include: • original research project qualified by a panel of judges • score of 3 or better on an Advanced Placement exam • PSAT Scholar/National Merit Scholar • successful completion of a dual enrollment course or college course with a grade of B or better (in an academic area)
Texas Performance Standards Program The goal of the TPSP is for students to create work that reflects the professional quality that the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students requires. Student projects are TEKS-based and focus on the core content areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies with interdisciplinary connections. • The TPSP provides opportunities for students to explore their areas of interest to an extent that is not often possible in school. Such an in-depth study may impact students' future studies and career plans.
Academic Decathlon • The Academic Decathlon® is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students. • Each high school enters a team of nine students: 3 "A" or Honor students, 3 "B" or Scholastic students, and 3 "C" or Varsity students. • Students are tested in 10 categories: Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Studies, and Speech. Students receive scholarships in addition to the scholar recognition.

While living on campus, students in this two-year program complete a rigorous academic curriculum of college coursework at the University of North Texas (UNT). Instruction is by regular university faculty.
