  2. RainforestGeography & Climate Location- Central America, Africa , Indo-Malaysia. Description- A forest of tall trees in a region of year round warmth. Soil Type- top soil- very thin and poor quality. Precipitaton- 50 to 260 inches of rain. Temperature range- 93 degrees F. to below 68 degrees F. Climate- Has lots of rain because its very hot and wet.

  3. RainforestBiodiversity • Plant species- Bengal Bamboo , Bougainvillea , Curare , Coconut tree , Durian , Jambu , kapok tree , and more. • Animal species- Africa forest elephant , Bengal tiger , Chimpanzee , Musang , and many more ! • There are 29 and many more plants and animals.

  4. Rainforest Adaptations Needed for Survival • Plant adaptations – plants shed off water from their leaves or branches so they won’t break off. • Animal adaptations – life in the trees , bright colors , sharp patterns , loud vocalizations , and heavy diets on fruits.

  5. Rainforest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic • Biotic – The animals eating each other biotic things in the area. • Abiotic – The abiotic become homes to some biotic factors.

  6. What is Biodiversity? • Diversity among and within plants and animals species in an environment.

  7. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • Answer- biodiversity ensures natural sustainability in an ecosystem. Everything in an ecosystem depends on biodiversity to live. Plants depend on the sun’s enegry to live, herbivores depend on plants to live. While carnivores depend on other animals to live , and omnivores depend on plants and animals.
