Objectives • Translate research/info to meet stakeholder needs • Build alliances & partnerships with organizations & projects to learn and share knowledge • Identify and address the capacity constraints to knowledge access, sharing and use • Build/demonstrate the value of a culture of knowledge sharing

  4. Barriers to knowledge sharing Literacy (English/French/African languages, information literacy) Structural factors (access to information and knowledge) Social barriers (gender, poverty, age, conflict, disability) Geographical barriers (physically hard-to-access areas)

VITAL STATISTICS ON AfricaAdapt • More than 1200 members out of which 80% are Africans or Africa-based, • Average of 3,500 visits/month of our online Platform from 125 countries/territories • 957 followers on Twitter @AfricaAdapt • 23 Innovative Adaptation Knowledge-Sharing Projects funded/selected in 16 African countries

  10. Experience with Community Radios so far Support for community radio broadcasters to attend international meetings – Ex COP15, GCRN – Radio Ada: Raising community awareness, Jokko FM: IF project at Rufisque on coastal erosion/seal level rise, Other media: WADR (Pre-CoP radio programs).
