Timetable of Progress • By December, 2010- The draft will become final document • By Feb./April, 2011- Regulations will be made final (Over a year before new test is administered) • May, 2012- New test will be administered to students • Summer, 2012- New accountability system will be installed
Senate Bill 1 • Requires Kentucky to begin new assessment and accountability system by 2011-2012 • Will address the four strategic priorities of KBE • Next-generation Learners • Next-generation Professionals • Next-generation Support Systems • Next-generation Schools/Districts
Next-generation Learners • Indicators that could be included in the accountability model: • Achievement • Gap • Growth • Readiness for College/Career • Graduation Rate
Next-generation Professionals • Indicators that could be used: • Percent of Effective Teachers • Percent of Effective Leaders
Next-generation Support Systems • Indicators that could be used include: • Working Conditions Survey • Program Reviews
Next-generation Schools and Districts • Indicators of success that could be in place: • Revised Report Card • Incorporating the new accountability system
In Closing • At this time, the new test and accountability system are on track to be rolled out May, 2012.
