The Todor Kableshkov University of Transport in Sofia, Bulgaria trains students and postgraduate students for acquiring engineering and special qualification for the needs of transport and transport infrastructure who can find jobs in all fields of: • land transportation; • transport manufacturing; • telecommunications; • signalling; • logistics; • building industry; • power engineering; • management of transport.

  3. UNIVERSITY HISTORY Founded as State Railway School in 1922, reorganized as Railway College in 1958 and Higher Military School of Transport in 1984, the Todor Kableshkov Higher School was demilitarized in 2000. At present, for more than 90 years, it has been a unique prominent centre of training specialists for the transport sector.

UNIVERSITY ACCREDITATION The Todor Kableshkov University of Transport has a five-year institutional accreditation and has been implementing the System of Quality Management according to EN ISO 9001:2008 standard since 2003. The Todor Kableshkov University of Transport has been applying the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)and issues diplomas with the European diploma application.

Main Tasks Research & International Relations Department • Organizing, managing and controlling research activity: - financed be the state budget - financed by contracts with external companies and organizations - financed by national and international programmes • Organizing and carrying out the International Scientific Conference TRANSPORT • Organizing the participation of university’s lecturers in national and international scientific forums • Organizing and carrying out the competitions for academic positions

Main Tasks Research & International Relations Department • Organizing the procedures for dissertations defenses and the acquisition of PhD and Doctor of Science degrees • Keeping and maintaining the scientific files of the academic staff • Organizing and carrying out the attestation of the academic staff • Organizing the competitions for PhD enrolment • Administrating the PhD education • Organizing and administrating PhD courses, developing specific research and academic knowledge and skills • Keeping and maintaining PhD students files

Main Tasks Research & International Relations Department • Implementing the organizational service of the Academic Council and General Assembly activities • Keeping Academic Council and General Assembly archive • Presenting the organization to international institutions and organizations; • Initiating and managing relations with national and international institutions, including but not limited to Ministries, Embassies, Agencies, Universities, Associations, etc.
