  1. Welcome to the Year 6 Coffee Morning 

  2. Topics for the Autumn Term

  3. Targets • Marking and target setting (Corrections) • Pre-teach and interventions • Booster classes will be available to support children where necessary closer to the time - looking at starting in Spring term • There will be a meeting in January to discuss the SATs and residential • Children will all be given a maths, SPAG, science and English revision guide to keep in their book bags. These can be used for extra revision and to help with any homework given.

  4. SPAG • Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar • Children are set up on the SPAG online with passwords available in homework book and reading diary. • Children will start to complete SPAG online activities as part of their homework each week • ACTIVITY • Spot the punctuation, spelling and grammar mistakes on the sheet provided.

  5. Answers • ‘Stop right there!’ yelled the bus driver. • ‘It’s a lovely day isn’t it?’ said Samantha, happily. • The teacher sighed as she picked up all of the children’s coats. • If you’re going to carry on like that all day, you will have to finish your work at home.

  6. Romeo Romeo, Where for art thou Romeo? Children will take part in a Shakespeare play in a day on Friday 29th September Due to hall restrictions, we can only invite one person for each child.

  7. School Trips • Christmas Trip- Carol Singing in December. • Residential to Robinwood in February.

  8. Robinwood Residential • The children will have a brilliant opportunity to attend Robinwood during their second term. This is a worthwhile trip where the children will take part in challenging, rewarding and team-building activities. • This year we have chosen to take the children to the new Robinwood site for a number of reasons: • More accommodating with dates which suit us better. • Robinwood supply the children with outdoor-wet clothes. • Children have the chance to build a link with group leader as they stay the same the whole trip. • There will be a meeting closer to the date to discuss details.

  9. What is year 6 all about? • Good hard work • Determination • Self-Motivating • Rewarding • Great fun • And most importantly, Memorable!
