Boiling the water was a physical change because the liquid was turning into a gas but they are still H20 molecules. • Adding the noodles to the water was a physical change. • Draining the water from the noodles was a physical change. • Adding the ingredients to the noodles was a physical change. • Stirring the ingredients is a physical change also. • Chewing the macaroni and cheese is a physical • change but digesting it is a chemical change. Physical and Chemical Changes
I chose a medium sized pot because it cooks faster than a large pot and can hold more water. There were no cons. Choice of pot
The law of conservation of mass was applied here because I started with 3 cups of macaroni noodles and then after I boiled them and added the ingredients I still had 3 cups of macaroni. Some mass was lost when the water boiled because it evaporated and turned into a vapor. Law of conservation Of mass
As you add heat to water, its temperature increases... until you reach the boiling point. Then, as you add heat, the temperature stays the same until the water is completely boiled off. Heat was transferred from the boiled noodles to the Ingredients to help melt them. Energy transfer
This law was demonstrated by me putting energy into the cooking of the macaroni and cheese and I got energy in return after I ate it. The law of conservation of energy
Before I made the macaroni and cheese the water was a liquid and liquids have medium intermolecular force. After I made the macaroni and cheese and added all the ingredients it became a solid and solids have high intermolecular forces. Intermolecular forces
