Installation instructions for the one and only 3 point strut bar for the 5th gen Accord Please follow the instructions to ensure proper fitment of the strut bar. Tool required: Phillips screwdriver #1 or #2 Small flat blade screwdriver or panel removal tool Center Punch Socket wrench Various Sockets 10mm, 13mm, 14mm Drill Bit in 3/8” Power Drill 10mm and 13mm box wrenches Hammer Paint or Marking Pen
Step 1: Park vehicle on a level surface, support on jack stands at all 4 corners if desired • Step 2: Remove negative battery terminal • Step 3: Remove 6 strut nuts (14mm) – 3 per side (see figure 1)
Step 4: Remove 10mm bolt from main fuse panel Step 5: Remove 10mm bolt from vacuum line bracket on firewall
Step 6: Remove 14mm nut from both wiper blades and then remove the wiper arms
Step 7: Gently pull back cowling weather stripping and remove the 6 plastic retaining clips, be careful when removing the clips. The clip is shown below.
Step 8: Once all of the retaining clips are moved, remove the weather stripping by pulling it towards the front of the car. Step 9: Remove the 7 screw clips on the upper cowling.
Step 11: If equipped remove the 10mm bolt from the ABS line retainer Step 12: Install your FATFOURCUSTOMS 3pt strut bar and moderately tighten all 6 factory strut nuts.
Step 13: Find the firewall mounted vacuum line bracket and bend the tab flat so factory bracket can be retained Step 14: Now install and fully tighten the factory 10mm bolt through the factory bracket and strut bar that was removedin Step 5
Step 15: Mark the two outer mounting holes that need to be drilled out Step 16: Now, remove the bar (6 strut nuts, 1 firewall bolt) so the mounting holes can be drilled Step 17: Center punch the marked holes on the firewall Step 18: Carefully drill the 2 mounting holes with a 3/8” drill bit Step 19: Re-install the FATFOURCUSTOMSstrut bar and check the alignment of the holes that were just drilled. If everything lines up, go ahead and tighten the rear bracket bolts to 30 ft-lbs. if your holes are off, retighten the bar using the 6 factory strut nuts and make your alignments accordingly. Step 20: Tighten the strut bolts to the factory specifications Step 21: Re-install the firewall mounted vacuum line bracket Step 22: Re-install the ABS line bolt and fuse box bolt
Step 23: Re-Connect the negative battery terminal • Step 24: Enjoy your new FATFOURCUSTOMS 3 point strut bar • Check all bolts 14 days after the installation, and retighten if necessary. • Please drive responsibly and obey all traffic laws "Department of Transportation's Law All modifications, except those that are exempt, have been designed and are intended for off-road use only.
