What is PAT? • Released by the DfES in 2003, updated several times • It is designed to contain pupil contextual data and attainment and achievement data for your school. • It allows schools to analyse whole cohort and individual pupil performance. • Provides the facility to investigate question/strand-level performance within statutory and optional tests. • Data can be used from KS2, KS3, GCSE/GNVQ and optional SATs for Years 7 and 8. • Analysis by any pupil attribute

Why is this change important? • Self evaluation, NRWS • Data as evidence • PandA currently widely used • Benchmarking is changing So, today is a vital part of the ‘conversion process’
Timescales • Summer 2005 • Interim PANDA arrangements • PAT available as normal • Summer 2006 release for new product • Pilot phases and consultation throughout development
