ASUG Connection • Starting March 2009 – free membership in ASUG • American SAP User’s Group – independent organization representing about 75% of SAP installed base • http://cisr.cob.csuchico.edu/SAPUA/map.html • Find your local group(s) and register from http://uac.sap.com > UA Stakeholder Area > User Groups • Great way to network with SAP customers and partners, learn about new products and spread the word about what UA is • Get on the agenda to present what is going on in your school to the group

Resources • https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-114815 • Installation of GUI: Defines how to download and install the SAP GUI from each of the hosting centers. • Terms & Acronyms:  Defines the terms and acronyms the UA team uses most frequently. • Role of Faculty Coordinator:  Outlines what is expected from a faculty coordinator (the key contact for UA related activity). • Sample Press Release with Instructions:  Lists the specific process for issuing a press release re:  new membership and provides SAP-approved text to be used as a starting point. • Registering for UAC:  This document outlines the 2 ways to register for UAC, depending on whether you need to get several faculty registered or if one person needs access.  New process for registering a group -- Nov. '09! • University Alliances Logo:  A specific UA/SAP logo has been developed for our members to use on collateral and websites.  (link to resource:  https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-114843). • Student Recognition & Certification:  Introduces 2 opportunities for students to quantify the SAP skill set they are developing through your participation in UA.  (note:  if you have further interest in TERP10, there is a workspace dedicated to this topic with much more detail). • Certificate Programs Policy:  A document outlining the policy regarding adding or using SAP related courses in college or university certificate programs, along with specific requirements for getting an amendment to the curriculum plan approved

Training Opportunities • Modes of Instruction • Face to Face (F2F) usually in the summer and this winter in Huntsville, TX • Recommend SAP Intro, BPI, and some of the more technical topics be done in this mode • Guided Online (over for this Fall – to be announced in Spring) • Self Paced Online (any course already given in Guided Online mode is available to do in self paced mode) See forum details to get recordings, notes and access to instructor and user ID • Example: https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/uac/accounting • Common Factors: • Need to Register (under UA Events > North America Regional Events > Fall and Winter workshops • Use forums to post and get answers to questions – do not email instructor directly • Search for an answer within the forum before asking the question

8. Training Map for Accounting Faculty Training;For faculty members who teach accounting Introduction to Financial Accounting After the Intro classes are complete, the 3 separate accounting classes are offered online. There is also a Face to Face workshop offered each summer that reviews the online materials (not in depth like the online class) and replicates most of the online AIS class. In addition the F2F workshop covers more advanced accounting topics and curricula such as IT audit, and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance). Some BI functionality is also covered in both the online AIS class and the Intro to Accounting F2F workshop. Training Map for General Business Process or MIS Faculty Business Process/Functional Analyst Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Warehousing Systems Administration & Programming Business Process Integration I Business Intelligence I NetWeaver Business Process Integration II Business Intelligence II These course paths are intended for primarily MIS professors or those teaching a business process curriculum. The classes are not linked except where shown by arrowed lines, which indicate mandatory sequencing. ERP as a Project or Solution Manager

Additional Courses ERP or Business Simulation Supply Chain Management (Intro & Advance topics Offered in F2F class) SAP Retail (F2F workshop in 2 day format) ERP Simulation is curriculum that is based on a game where students compete in the marketplace and use SAP ERP to run the business. It requires some knowledge of SAP ERP (e.g. teaching SAP ERP for one year or completion of the SAP Intro sequence). It does require training and certification to offer this course on your campus, but is appropriate for all disciplines in Business and Computer Information Systems. Class topics vary with instructor, but all include an overview of SCM materials (including point and click exercises) as well as more advanced SCM functionality. For faculty who teach operations management and supply chain topics. Designed by and for Marketing and Retail faculty and those not well versed in technology.

11. Role of Faculty Coordinator • Main point of contact for all inquiry about the program from the UA Program Director or her designee, • Main point of contact to receive and distribute communication from the UA team, • Coordinator for use of system clients on the campus to make sure client usage is optimized, • Coordinator for SAP related curriculum and teaching activities on the specific campus, • First line of help with installing SAP GUI, registering for UAC access, downloading curriculum, posting help questions to the appropriate UAC forum, etc. by campus faculty, • Verifier of faculty status for any faculty member requesting access to the private area of the UAC that can not otherwise be identified as a faculty member in the campus program, • Enforcer on the campus for SAP policy and rules, such as use of SAP logo, contract requirements, appropriate use of UA curriculum materials (note that students are not allowed to have access to the private area of the UAC and should not be given access by any faculty member at any campus), etc. • Advising campus faculty on training opportunities and helping them select the best UA workshops for their discipline, and • Main point of contact for SAP customers seeking partnership opportunities (if the Dean wants this task then the FC should refer the contact to the Dean, but the contact will be referred to the FC on file).

13. Working with your UCC • Coordinate request for clients through Campus Faculty Coordinator even when individual access is requested (i.e. Milwaukee) • Plan ahead – the more lead time you can give them the better your service will be • Test curriculum before you give it to students – find the bugs and get them fixed or find out how to fix them – UCCs are not help desks for curriculum issues • Use the forums to search for answers, post questions and share ideas – this is building our knowledge base • Request a sandbox account to test curriculum before the semester starts if possible • Be familiar with SAP terms and acronyms, i.e. client is really a data set or a system configuration not a customer
