2. Severe Weather • Snow storms are considered severe weather • cause power loss • slippery roads • cause trees to fall down which puts anything in that area in danger.

4. Where They Occur • They occur over bodies of water • More likely if immediately east of cold front • 4-6 feet possible if air is light enough to move snow on shore but not strong enough to move the developing system • Mostly found east or southeast of the Great Lakes

5. Air Pressure • Not associated with advancing cells of low pressure • Associated with dense high pressure arctic cold fronts • Higher the temperature, lower the pressure and vise versa

6. Density • If there’s heavy snow then in the snowstorm that means there will be high density and high pressure • Warmer air is low density so that is why it rises from the lake and mixes with the cold front
