Meet the Champions Sue Rideout 3rd Flight
Sue Rideout3rd Flight • When did you begin golfing? • 3 ½ years ago when I suggested to my 7-year-old grandson, Trent, that we take lessons together. Of course, he has always been able to out-drive me! • Current or Former Profession • I have my own business training people how to use their computer in the comfort of their own homes. I also design Microsoft Access databases for small businesses. • In what other hobbies/interests are you involved ? • I love photography, make my own jewelry and greeting cards, also do some sewing—especially home décor items. And I’m a painter. But my most important pastime is being an awesome grandmother—it doesn’t get any better than that!
Sue Rideout3rd Flight • What is your favorite course to play? • I’ve had the opportunity to play Isleworth in two charity events—it’s got to be my favorite. But my everyday favorite is probably Forest Lake. It’s usually in good shape and I can score decently there. • What is your favorite club in your bag? • My Adams Ideal 3 fairway hybrid. When I don’t top it, it’s usually my best shot!
Sue Rideout3rd Flight • Have you advanced to either Semi or Final Championship level previously? If so, tell us about your experience. • No—this is my first year in EWGA, so my first Championship. I can’t believe I got so lucky! And it certainly was luck because I edged out my cart partner, Faye Horton, by only one shot! Going head-to-head with her I think provided me with great preparation for the semi-final. She really kept me on my toes!
Sue Rideout3rd Flight • What good luck charm or special routine will you use at the Semi-final/Final rounds? • I think I’ll carry my favorite photo of Trent with me. It’s what I picture in my mind anytime I need to relax or go to my “happy place.” “Faster! Faster!”
Sue Rideout3rd Flight • How did you become involved with the EWGA? • I met Patti Hewitt last summer when we served on a charity event committee together. She invited me to a Nine-n-Dine at Dubsdread. What a great group of women! • What might others be interested/surprised to know about you? • Most people are surprised to learn I just turned 60—and I can still do the hula hoop!
