  2. Surgical Retractor • Use in surgery to create a working area • Average cost is $2k -5k • Multiple retractors needed during different times in a surgery • Standard design remains unchanged for past 80 years

  3. Problems • Rising healthcare cost • Increase in patient population • Surgical inefficiencies • Sterilization time • Take a lot of space in operation room • Uncomfortable ergonomic design

  4. Solution: Modular Retractor • Detachable tips and changeable length for different usage - Decrease cost • Sterilization time • Save space • Increase efficiency • Save time • Comfortable handle for surgeon
