2. Aiden, a normal sixteen year old farm boy, lived with his older brother Elliott on their farm in medieval England. He had a content life, but work was tedious and the season crops were steadily declining in numbers. Aiden and Elliott would soon be in debt if they didn’t do anything. One day, while he was napping in the forests near their home, Aiden was awoken by a nudging on his arm. It quickly went away though. Being sleepy and stressed by his family’s situation, Aiden ignored the nudging and went to sleep. The nudging being too hard to ignore, Aiden opened his eyes and sat up, stretching his arms and back, and gazed upon the thing that had nudged him.

3. Aiden yelped, jumping back in fright. A dragon! A baby dragon! The creature was coal black, and seemed very curious about its surroundings. It was only about two feet in length, so it was very young, but the very notion of a dragon frightened Aiden. The creature stared up innocently at him. Aiden grasped his hunting knife, and his rope. He looked between the two objects, mind racing. Aiden thought ‘This creature could be worth something, or maybe I could train it and win money through battles! No one has seen a dragon in years! I better bring it with me.’ With that, he laced the rope around the dainty creature’s neck Aiden thought ‘A baby dragon may be harmless, but an adult can destroy a town in a single swipe! They never stop growing! I had better get rid of it while I still can.’ Aiden raided the knife and killed the dragon.

4. With the small creature padding beside him on its makeshift restraint, Aiden made his way back through the forest towards the farm. When he got back, Aiden realized that there was a decision to make. What to do with the dragon? Aiden thought for a moment. Elliott deserves to know, this is going to affect him too! Aiden waltzes up to the farm house and goes to his brother. Elliott sees the dragon immediately. Aiden thought for a moment. Something bad could happen to the dragon if Elliott reacts badly. I better keep it safe and hidden.

5. Elliott stares at the little creature, mouth gaping. “A dragon!” he exclaimed. “What business have you hauling a dragon about? No one has seen a dragon in years!” Aiden picked up the creature and held it for Elliott so see. “We are in debt brother; this is our chance to save ourselves! We need to raise it, train it, and let it win battles!” Elliott looked at him studiously. Elliott looked at his brother sadly. “It’s too dangerous. No.” With that, Elliott snatched up the dragon and killed it. Elliott looks Aiden square in the eyes. “Alright, we must be careful with this though.”

6. Aiden thanked his brother and left. As the years went on, the dragon grew. Aiden named him Lyle, and the creature grew into a graceful beast of the sky. There was only one thing left. The first battle. A war had started in Europe, and Lyle could be part of it. Aiden had grown too attached to his faithful companion to let him fight, money didn’t matter anymore. Aiden was greatly attached to his reptilian friend, but he knew that Lyle was ready for this. They went to battle.

7. Lyle flew diligently to the site of the battle with Aiden securely on his back. He was in the midst of the fray, when another dragon, pure white in color with a rider also on its back, sprang forth, supporting the enemy side. The two dragons flipped and clawed at each other through the air, landing blows but never anything harsh enough to kill. After a lengthy time of fighting, Lyle saw his chance, as did the enemy white dragon. Lyle spun in the air, circling the beautiful beast. He needed patience for this move. The enemy attacked again and again, but Lyle knew his strategy was only possible if he was calm. Lyle angled through the air, spiraling towards the enemy. His attack was frontal, aggressive, and its mark was aimed at the dragon’s glorious neck. Lyle attacked.

8. Little did he know, a baby dragon had been nudging his arm. Getting no response, the creature stopped and continued on its way. Aiden and Elliott went in debt and lost the farm, living as beggars. Back

10. As the dragon grows, Aiden has no way to discipline and care for it! It goes rogue and eats Aiden, Elliott, and everyone in the surrounding villages. Back

12. Lyle wished to fight, but he reluctantly relented and they stayed in the village. They lived a poor, but happy, life. Back

13. Lyle grabbed the neck, but the enemy had also been smart, calculating. The white dragon had Lyle’s wing in its claws, and it was breaking the bones beyond repair. Lyle killed the dragon, but only after the damage was done. The battle was won, but with a price. Lyle could never fly normally again. But, in the end, he and Aiden still had the farm to live on, and a happy, comfortable life ahead of them. Back

14. Lyle waited for the enemy to attempt another strike, and as soon as it did, his plan went into action. He closed his wings, dropping through the air. This startled the dragon. Then, when his enemy was confused, he flapped again and shot into the air, claws outstretched. He attacked the dragon’s blazing white neck from below, killing it. Lyle won the battle, and led a comfortable life on the farm with Aiden and Elliott. Back
