The Family of God • Israel was a family Amos 3:1 • God’s relationship with Israel is that of a husband to a wife Hosea 2,Ezekiel 16:20-21 • God’s relationship with Israel is that of a father to a son Hosea 11 • God lovesHis people • His people should love each other • God disciplines His children Hos. 11:5,8 • The new covenant reveals more about the people of God as a family

The Family of God • God has family in heaven and earth Eph 3:14-15 • Angels are called sons of God Job 1:6; 38:4-7 • Jesus is the only begotten Son of God John 1:18 • He came to make us sons of God Rom. 8:28-29 • He became like us (Son of Man) Phil. 2:5-11 • So we would become like Him Rom. 8:29 • If we are in Christ, we are sons of God Galatians 3:26-29 baptism a birth tobecome children • We must be led by the Spirit to continue to be sons of God Rom. 8:14
