The browser is the interface between the user and the internet The browser sends a request to the web server to retrieve a web page the browser then renders the HTML code to display the web page A web cache is a temporary storage area on your computer for collecting data .once the data is stored in the cache the a website can quickly access the stored copy rather than downloading it again A web site is a collection of related HTML formatted web pages located on the world wild web all pages within the site are accessible from the web site address the pages within the web site can contain text , images and multimedia elements such as sound , video and animation files

For example , application software programs, such as Microsoft Office, saves files in a particular format generally , the files must be opened by the same programs. However , leading software makers have introduced a new methods of saving files : XML. This method saves the document as a simple text file , along with information on how the application interprets the text . Programs such as Microsoft Office ,open office , and word perfect office create their own versions for different operating systems such as windows, apple mac, and Linux recent versions of these programs provide the option to save in XML format , thus enabling easier file exchange
