Australia’s Human Rights Framework Key National Priorities: Reaffirming a commitment to our human rights obligations The importance of Human rights education: enhance support for human rights education across community, including primary and secondary schools and the public sector. Enhancing our domestic & international engagement on hr Improving human rights protections including greater parliamentary scrutiny Achieving greater respect for human rights principles within the community.

  4. Australia’s Human Rights Framework Launched in 2010. Real and lasting change requires community engagement. It is for this reason that human rights education is the centrepiece of Australia’s HRF. This program will include the government/public servants; professions; educators; and communities. Human Rights education: enhance support for human rights education across the community, including primary & secondary schools and the public sector.

TEACHING • Definition of target learners • The relationship between human rights as taught and the realities of daily life • Relations with the existing administrative structures • Methods of teaching • Seeking funding for educational projects • Long-term impact of education and training. • How can the efficacy and results of such HRE be evaluated? • Instructors/teachers learned that effective education must be linked to the lives of the learners.
