What is EQF? • EQF stands for European Qualifications Framework • The EQF acts as a translation device to • make national qualifications more readable and comparable across Europe • promote workers' and learners' mobility between European countries • facilitate lifelong learning • Shift from input orientation (such as learning times) to outcome orientation (learning outcomes defined in knowledge, skills and competences) NQF-SQF

What is NQF-SQF? • NQF-SQF stands for: National Qualifications Frameworks – Sectoral Qualifications Frameworks .Common grounds for referencing NQFs and SQFs to the EQF • 11 partners from 9 European countries • representing different actors in the education systems • funded with support by the European Commissions Lifelong Learning programme • Duration: March 2010 - February 2012 NQF-SQF

What are the objectives of NQF-SQF? • Creating common grounds for referencing …_qualifications to the different levels of an NQF or SQF _NQF- and SQF-levels to EQF levels • The projects common point of reference/ criterion for the referencing process: _the work process and its qualification requirements (that are behind a qualification) • The major tool: _the employability grid to ensure a strong link to the labour market • The approach: _review of NQFs and SQFs regarding their reference to the work process and contribution to the referencing debate in Europe NQF-SQF
