  4. What can Connect do? • Type text message in ‘Chat’ • Audio (headphone/microphone) • Video camera • Show opinions (agree/slow down…) • Share files, documents (PowerPoint, Word, PDF) and application • Poll and Quiz • Breakout rooms • Record

Benefits of using Connect? • Replicates the real classroom settings more closely than any other tools • Simultaneous use of webcam and teaching material • Allows students to give their own live presentations • No need to travel • The students liked it, and the module pass rate has improved as a result of the interactive tutorials • Recorded session allows all students to watch • Students could ask a question and get instant feedback – more likely to do so

Disadvantages? • Some students’ connections were not clear enough to hear what they were saying. • It is a problem not being able to enter the classroom before the scheduled time. • It is a problem not being able to start a session whenever I want • It is a shame that students cannot book a virtual classroom themselves
