UFC 3-310-04, 1 May 2013 • Replaces UFC 3-310-04 1 MAY 2012 • Direct reference to 2012 IBC, which references ASCE 7-10 • Exceptions: • Some military facilities will require higher standards • Some host nations may require higher standards

UFC 3-310-04 • UFC 3-310-04 adopts the 2012 IBC • Lists modifications to the provisions of the 2012 IBC • The 2012 IBC adopts by reference extensive portions of ASCE 7-10 • UFC 3-310-04 modifies some sections in ASCE 7-10 2-1613 EARTHQUAKE LOADS IBC or ASCE 7 section number and title UFC Chapter
Chapter 2: 2012 IBC Modifications for Seismic Design of DoD Buildings An example section number in this chapter is 2-1603.1.5 or 2-13.1.2. The first number, 2, refers to Chapter 2 of this UFC. 1603.1.5 refers to 2012 IBC Section 1603.1.5, and 13.1.2 refers to ASCE 7-10 Section 13.1.2.

2012 IBC Section 102.4.2: Provisions in Referenced Codes and Standards 102.4.2 Provisions in referenced codes and standards. Where the extent of the reference to a referenced code or standard includes subject matter that is within the scope of this code or the International Codes listed in Section 101.4, the provisions of this code or the International Codes listed in Section 101.4, as applicable, shall take precedence over the provisions in the referenced code or standard.
Chapter 35 Referenced Standards This chapter lists the standards that are referenced in various sections of this document. The standards are listed herein by the promulgating agency of the standard, the standard identification, the effective date and title, and the section or sections of this document that reference the standard. The application of the referenced standards shall be as specified in Section 102.4.
